Cotool

Free your security team to hunt threats, not handle workflows

Cotool is an agentic security platform that eliminates manual and repetitive work for security teams. Today’s cybersecurity teams remain bogged down by alert fatigue, context switching, and documentation overhead. Security teams don't need more dashboards with "AI-powered insights" — they need their time back. Cotool empowers teams to build security their way. Our platform provides an AI co-pilot that automatically assembles context across tools, a no-code agent builder that transforms successful investigations into reusable automations, and automated report generation, providing comprehensive documentation in seconds. Unlike solutions that force teams to adapt to vendor workflows, Cotool puts the power of AI directly in practitioners' hands, letting them shape tools around their unique processes. Early users have already cut time spent on investigation and detection engineering by 70%.

Hey everyone 👋

We're Eddie, Logan, and Max – co-founders of Cotool.

TL;DR

Cotool uses AI to automate repetitive security workflows so teams can focus on threat hunting instead of manual tasks. Our early users have used the copilot and agents to cut investigation time by 90% and increase detection quality & coverage. Book a demo to learn how you can do the same!

❌ The Problem

Security is complex, but the problems facing most teams are not:

  1. Alert Fatigue: Hours lost to false positives, while genuine threats slip by unnoticed.
  2. Context Switching: Investigations requiring constant toggling across 5-10 disconnected tools just to assemble basic context.
  3. Documentation Overhead: Teams spend more time as technical writers than security practitioners, bogged down in endless reporting.

Before founding Cotool, we collaborated with cutting-edge security teams including OpenAI, Coinbase, Figma, and DoorDash, experiencing these universal challenges firsthand.

Advancements in AI now offer an opportunity to truly reimagine this model; by building intuitive, collaborative tools that complement, not replace, security professionals.

👷 Our Solution

Cotool provides a suite of Agents and an AI co-pilot designed specifically for security teams, streamlining workflows and reducing frustration through:

  • Seamless Investigations 🔍: A true AI co-pilot that works alongside security engineers during alert triage, investigations, and detection engineering; automatically gathering relevant context from across tools so they can focus on reasoning, not tool-hopping.
  • No-code Agents 🤖: Turn successful debugging flows into reusable agents, then refine their behavior with natural language prompts and connect them to any tools Cotool has access to, with granular permission controls.
  • Automated Documentation 📊: Generating thorough, accurate reports in seconds, freeing up valuable security practitioner time.

👨‍💻 The Team

We have worked together for years and co-founded Cotool in 2025.

Max Pollard (CEO) led the forward deployed engineering team at Material, working directly with security teams to understand their workflows and pain points. He built the team up from one to 8 engineers and embedded himself with the world's best security programs. Previously he worked as a SE at Okta. He holds a BA in Business and Computer Science from UC Berkeley.

Eddie Conk (CPO + Head of AI) spent the last 3 years at Material Security, leading the ML Engineering function. He developed and trained AI models for detecting Phishing emails at scale for some of the largest and most secure companies in the world. Previously he was an ML Engineer at Apple, and holds a BA in Computer Science from UC Berkeley.

Logan Carmody (CTO) was an early engineer and the technical lead for the Phishing Protection product at Material Security. He helped develop the proprietary language and compiler which Material’s threat researchers used to detect Phishing messages and Workspace breaches. He previously was a Staff SWE at LinkedIn working in infrastructure, and holds a BS in Computer Science and Philosophy from Duke University.

Together, we've spent years embedded with some of the world's best security teams. We're passionate about helping security teams focus on what they do best – hunting threats, not handling workflows.
